Our client, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Data Conversion Consultant to join their Oracle ERP implementation team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end data conversion process for our clients' Oracle implementation. Your primary duties will include assessing existing data sources, mapping data elements to Oracle fields, cleansing and transforming data, and ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, IT staff, and end-users, to ensure successful data migration and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Assess existing data sources and structures to determine compatibility with Oracle requirements.
- Map data elements from legacy systems to corresponding fields in Oracle.
- Cleanse and transform data to remove duplicates, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies.
- Validate migrated data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to business rules.
- Load cleansed and validated data into Oracle using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Document data conversion processes, mappings, and validation procedures for future reference and auditing.
- Provide training and support to end-users on data migration processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth data migration and implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle implementations, with a focus on data conversion.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle data migration tools (e.g., Oracle Data Integrator, SQL Loader).
- Experience with legacy systems commonly used in asset management (e.g., Maximo, SAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
