We are seeking an individual contributor with a solid background in subscription monetization. You will work with cross-functional teams to build, enhance, and maintain subscription products for our large two-sided freelancer marketplace. Applying your knowledge in subscription strategy, product management, monetization you will drive the success of our subscription initiatives while providing an impeccable user experience for our customers. You will report to our Pricing and Monetization Strategy Director.
Your Responsibilities:
- Single threaded leader (STL) for talent subscriptions across Upwork;
- Define key input and output metrics to measure the success of talent subscriptions; use data-driven insights to optimize product performance and user experience.
- Drive sustainable growth for Upwork; balancing the health of our marketplace with delivery of ambitious revenue / profitability goals
- Leverage best practices in pricing and packaging strategy to build and/or optimize subscriptions across talent segments
- Define and execute the roadmap for talent subscriptions; continuously prioritizing in light of business needs
- Build platform level capabilities to support subscriptions across Upwork
What it takes to catch our eye:
- Demonstrated experience in building / accelerating growth of a $10M -$100M subscription business; for either a 2 sided marketplace or consumer subscription business
- Expertise in pricing, monetization and packaging best practices
- Experience writing detailed detailed product requirements and working closely with Engineering on execution
- Demonstrated grit and acute ownership: We take pride in driving outcomes and optimizing end-to-end experiences!
- Demonstrated ability to lead / influence cross-functional teams, drive product vision, and execute on product roadmaps.
- Demonstrated experience building platform level capabilities
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Highly collaborative and enjoys working in partnership with many areas to identify goals and work together to achieve them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $149,000 - $246,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
