What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Advocate (Bilingual Spanish/English) position at Urban Health Plan, Inc?
Position Summary:
The Patient Advocate (Bilingual English/Spanish) will be stationed at our location at Plaza del Sol Health Center in Corona, Queens and serve as a resource for patients in our care. The Patient Advocate uses feedback from patients in order to enhance the quality of services in the center.
Applicants must have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours/week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 7:30am-5pm, Saturdays 7:30am-1:30pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English, required.
- 0-1 years of previous customer service experience, ideally in health care or community services
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Key Duties:
- Greets all patients and is aware of their visit and or/purpose at the health center, so that we (UHP) can meet their needs.
- Investigates, resolves, documents and reports patient and visitor compliments and concerns to leadership and staff.?
- Facilitates resolution of concerns for Patients & Visitors for assigned Clinical Service Unit.
- Escorts patients and/or arranges for escort to assigned department/location.
- Acts as a customer service informational resource for all patients/visitors/customer entering the facility and serves as liaison between the departments to ensure patient/customer satisfaction.
