What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech I (Evenings) position at URBN?

High level of commitment and drive and demonstrates a problem-solving and decision-making approach towards work with a “right first time” mindset.  Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of organization. 

Reports to:  Facilities Supervisor     

Schedule:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planned maintenance, breakdown repair and condition monitoring activities of facilities and equipment.
  • Work in conjunction with operations staff on a daily operational related issues and continuous improvement plans.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to operational machines while considering the impact on other departments.
  • Monitors and performs mechanical adjustments to equipment in assigned areas ensuring optimal operation within SOP guidelines.
  • Communication with operations team on status of equipment breakdowns.
  • Maintains validated parameters during the operation of equipment, thus permitting the timely release of product and meeting functional, cosmetic, and other quality control specifications.
  • Assists in equipment-related recommendations that will secure improvements in productivity, efficiency, cost control, and product quality.
  • Assists with maintaining SOPs and related documents for maintenance and operation of equipment and all other job functions within assigned areas under the guidance of Lead or Supervisor.
  • Assist with implementing methods that will maximize reliability of production and/or facilities equipment within its limitations.
  • Performs all activities within documented SOP guidelines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs of all inspections, planned maintenance and repair work, and failures using our CMMS.
  • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings (some of which may be outside of your normal working hours).
  • Responsible for ensuring that a clean, organized and hazard free working environment is maintained.
  • Ensure that all prescribed safe systems of work for processes are adhered to including the health, safety and welfare of all team members and others.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts which may require schedule alterations, available for emergency callbacks and overtime requirements as needed, including holidays and plant shutdowns. Available for increased scheduled hours during peak season.

 

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years related maintenance experience
  • Trade skills in one or more of the following: welding, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, forklifts, building construction, conveyor.
  • Ability to interpret and understand OEM manuals
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial equipment mechanics
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment

Education:

  • Minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent

The employee is required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lifts up to 55 pounds. May operate warehouse equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires some coordinated movements.

Works in a Fulfillment Center environment in all types of weather. The employee may operate warehouse equipment. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
