What are the responsibilities and job description for the URBN Finishing-Spotting Clerk nights position at URBN?
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
Schedule: E58: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm
Overview:
Candidate should be a motivated team player with a positive attitude and possess good organizational and communication skills. Individual should be able to function well in a multi-task environment with attention to detail, and willing to accept new and diverse assignments. Candidate must be able to work with all organizational levels including fellow-employees, customers and management.
Candidate will identify stains in fabrics, determine the best spotting procedure based on type of fabric and nature of stain, and then apply chemical solutions to remove the stain.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspects spot stains to determine composition and select solvent
- Apply chemicals to neutralize effects of solvents
- Sprays steam, water, or air over spot to flush out chemicals, dry material, raise nap, or brighten color
- Cleans fabric using vacuum or air-hose
- Spreads garment on worktable and positions stain over vacuum head or on marble slab
- Applies bleaching powder to spot, and sprays with steam to remove stains from certain fabrics which do not respond to other cleaning solvents.
- Train associates as needed
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- All other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager
Knowledge, Experience & Skills Preferred:
- Experience using spotting agents
- Knowledge of textiles
- Skillful at removing stains and maintaining integrity of fabric
- Must be able to see all colors
Physical Requirements:
- Stand / walk for an extended time period
- Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 55 pounds
- Operate warehouse equipment as required for position (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires coordinated movements
