Pay Range: $73,626.40 - $90,896.79 DOE
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Student Information Systems (SIS) Development Lead, design, develop, support, train, and implement technology services. Work with team to develop scope and prioritization of work assignments, paying strong attention to detail and deadlines. Respond to and report problems pertaining to the service performance and reliability. Responsible for the development, upgrading, maintenance, technical support, and the interfaces related to the District's Student Information Systems. Work closely with the vendors, the users in the District, the training staff supporting the systems, and the other Student Information Systems developers within the department. Ensure that systems, including all modifications, enhancements, and new releases are implemented and functioning properly. Work with users to determine needs and provide solutions. Coordinate the installation of newly purchased products and the upgrades to existing products. Provide support to the staff in the deployment, programming, debugging and technical support of newly acquired technologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job; not all tasks may be performed by each employee. Duties and assignments may vary based on building assignment and academic year. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only.
- As a member of the SIS team, form daily project goals and support all applications maintained by Student Information Systems, including delivery and development of software. [Daily, 30%]
- Produce coding which meets functional specifications accurately and with an appropriate level of robustness to handle errors and unexpected content. Code will be self-documented, clearly organized, structured, and reusable. [Daily, 30%]
- Troubleshoot District and vendor systems, providing solutions to identified problems and ensure they are documented, implemented, and operating properly. [Daily, 10%]
- Contribute to design document details for architecture, functionality, and time estimates. [Daily, 10%]
- Help to enforce data integrity measures. [Daily, 10%]
- Communicate with team lead and SIS Manager about status of work and any issues with work in progress. [Daily, 5%]
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5 %]
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) OR an equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, and certifications.
- Three (3) years of experience in Information Technology development.
- Basic knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, preferably C#.
- Basic level of understanding of reporting principles and practices.
- Intermediate knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, email, etc.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Basic analytical/technical skills to collect and prepare productivity data, etc.
- Intermediate organization skills.
- Intermediate problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate interpersonal relations and teamwork skills.
- Ability to be adaptive to changing needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience developing software with Microsoft .NET, C#, JavaScript, and SQL Server technologies.
- Experience as a Salesforce administrator, and Salesforce tools; Force.Com , Apex, VisualForce.
- Experience working with agile software development, including Scrum.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Basic knowledge of representational state transfer (REST) application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Proficiency in software development life cycle.
- Ability to work with project management and IT Architect to identify best practices and alternative designs considerations.
