Job Description:
The main function of a graphic designer is to create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on design principles and concepts. A typical graphic designer needs to have a high level of creativity and able to communicate their ideas to both internal and external clients. The ability to be flexible to client demands, work well under pressure and multi-task are required skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting research on existing typefaces to identify gaps in the market and opportunities for innovation.
- Sketching and drawing initial concepts for new typefaces or fonts.
- Using software tools like FontLab, Glyphs, or RoboFont to create and refine digital prototypes of the typeface.
- Testing and proofing the typeface to ensure it meets quality standards and functions well across different contexts and applications.
- Collaborating with other designers, clients, or type foundries to incorporate feedback and address any issues that arise during the design process.
- Developing comprehensive type specimens and documentation to showcase the typeface and its intended use.
- Continuously staying up-to-date with typography trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Must-have skills:
- Type design – extensive in typography
