Lab Services- Lab Glass Wash

Key Purpose
The Lab Services - Lab Glass Wash position is responsible for handling the cleaning process of all lab services glassware. This position will receive and collect the glassware, clean, and inspect the glassware and redeliver or prepare for distribution cleaned glassware. Duties will be dependent on operational needs as outlined by ISS’ clients and contracts.

Ideal Candidate Experience
- High school diploma/GED or an equivalent number of years of education and lab services experience.
- Glass wash experience a plus
- Experience with Pharmaceutical SOPs and GMP is a plus
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Move experience a plus

Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all glassware is inspected for cracks, markings, etc. prior to loading in tunnel/batch washers
- Notify Team Lead of any damaged glassware and set aside
- Remove all markings, as necessary, with acetone or by scraping prior to loading
- Keep glassware separated by bin to prevent co-mingling of glassware
- Perform bar code scanning using AbbVie provided technology to record number and type of containers washed. Manual entry can be used in lieu of the AbbVie provided technology is not available
- Load glassware Sonicator per established operating procedures
- Unload glassware from Sonicator per established operating procedures, inspecting the glassware for cracks prior to loading into drying ovens
- Notify Team Lead of any damaged glassware and set aside to prevent breakage and/or injury
- Assist AbbVie Drivers with pickup of dirty glassware from and return clean to laboratories -
- Deliver incidental packages to centralized shipping center
- Perform other in scope glass wash related duties as assigned (e.g. pelletized dry ice delivery, etc.)
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
- The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
