Playing a central role in providing a broad range of administrative and substantive skills to the Business Development team, the Business Development Coordinator works collaboratively and proactively on a range of strategic firm activities. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong abilities to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize appropriately, work efficiently, learn quickly, and remain flexible to changes in work schedule and with business travel. This position offers the opportunity to gain the experience, connections, and continuous learning through routine engagement with all levels of the firm’s professional staff, lawyers, and leadership, while gaining significant analytical and project management skills. This position can be resident in several of our US locations with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Key responsibilities include: Provides administrative and substantive support to business development team colleagues on a broad range of projects and strategic firm initiatives. Leverages firm tools to manage data, conduct research using firm intranet and external platforms, and create reports in support of business development campaigns, including developing mailing lists. Coordinates firm-hosted business development events, including receptions, client entertainment outings, and substantive presentations, working closely with participating lawyers and business development colleagues on invitation list development, event materials, participant tracking, on-site management, and targeted follow-up activities. Schedules department meetings and coordinates logistics, including booking conference rooms, arranging videoconferences, sending out event meeting requests and preparing meeting materials. Coordinates travel arrangements for business development team and manages, submits, and tracks expenses. Drafts and edits correspondence, PowerPoint presentations and visual resources, and other documents, including collaboration with colleagues across departments to format, edit, proofread, print, and compile deliverables to firm standards. Experience and qualifications: Associates or Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services/consulting organization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work independently as well as manage projects and assignments in a collaborative team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships, and work collaboratively, with a wide range of individuals with differing opinions and diverse personalities. Time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to adapt to new software programs. Experience with law firm management applications such as Chrome River, Workday, and Elite a plus.
