What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSE Coordinator position at US ZINC?
- MUST have a minimum of 2-5 years industrial experience.
- This position requires 25% office related environment and 75% industrial/ plant floor enviroment.
· Develop, implement, and administer all HSE programs with support of HSE supervisor
· Must participate in and coordinate Safety Committee activities, Plant inspections and audits, and management team HSE improvement activities
· Monitor and support compliance with company policies and aid in implementation
· Act as primary contact for all government, agency, vendor inquiries
· Investigate, review, analyze and follow up on all work incidents and accidents; Drive all HSE corrective actions to completion
· Facilitate all needed employee HSE training such as monthly safety trainings, respiratory protection program, lead program, etc., and coordinate completion of training thru line supervision
· Cultivate a strong, proactive safety presence in the Plant with frequent (daily) interactions with employees in their work areas to address safety issues or concerns
· Conduct multiple, daily walkthroughs of operating areas, contractor projects, and environmental impact areas
· Assist and coordinate with HSE supervisor all injuries and Worker’s Compensation claims
· Promote high employee involvement in the safety process by coaching safety improvement initiatives, safety committee activities, and supervisor safety leadership.
· Continue self-development thru training and certification programs to enhance HSE skills and performance
· Coordinate continuous risk assessment initiatives and programs to improve performance and move the Plant towards HSE excellence
· Collect safety training data, incident information, inspection results, and other safety system data and provide the required reports to Plant and corporate groups
· Participate in other location HSE auditing, safety sharing and joint initiatives as needed
· Assist with preparation and submission of required environmental and transportation annual reports.
· Assist with preparation of new or revised HSE regulatory permit applications as well as assisting with technical aspects of required permit applications and compliance.
· Conduct quarterly regulatory environmental and transportation compliance audits.
· Maintain global regulatory awareness of regulations impacting our product or customer markets and effectuate agency registrations, labeling, or other changes or actions as required.
· Conduct quarterly OSHA audits.
· Conduct annual industrial hygiene exposure monitoring.
· Perform other HSE duties as required and assigned.
