Senior Analyst - US Indirect Tax Elanco has an exciting opportunity to join our growing innovative and collaborative tax team as we execute our vision to become a high performing tech-forward tax department, taking command over our data and enabling increased analytics through use of data wrangling, automation and visualization tools. The Role The Sr. Analyst reports to the Director – Domestic Income Tax and plays an integral role in the global tax department, primarily responsible for timely preparation of all domestic income tax returns, extensions and estimated tax payments, including collaboration on the US International, transfer pricing and other key inputs completed by other tax subgroups or 3rd party service providers, assisting with the annual income tax provision process and assisting with other federal and state projects, as assigned. The role requires a basic understanding of federal and state income tax concepts and a growing knowledge of US international income tax relevant for a complex multinational public company. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly sales/use tax data for reporting to third party partner Assist in the preparation of property tax returns and supporting schedules Prepare and/or assist with payment of property tax bills Validate and process exemption certificates into OneSource & Vertex software platforms Prepare general ledger reconciliations for indirect tax accounts Oversee the maintenance of exemption certificates, ensuring timely responses to requests Assist with the mailbox management for the exemption certificate process for both vendors and customers Independently research and resolve complex sales and use tax questions regarding product taxability, tax rates, and specific transactions Perform research and analysis on tax tolerance checks to ensure they are resolved appropriately Identify and monitor trends and root causes of repetitive tax issues and assist with implementing preventative measures Assist with preparing/entering monthly journal entries related to sales/use and property tax Support the sales/use and property tax integration of business acquisitions and restructurings Assist with tracking and compiling compliance requirements for US domestic incentives Support technology and process improvements to improve the tax return compliance process Communicate with taxing authorities on notices and tax accounts Monitor and interpret tax legislation relevant to business operations Assist with various tax projects as necessary Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance 3 years’ experience in Big 4 Public Accounting or multinational corporation Sales and use tax experience Property tax experience Knowledge of US Indirect tax compliance Additional Preferences CPA or equivalent Experience with SAP, OneSource software and BNA/Checkpoint research programs Strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making and organization skills Additional Information Minimal travel Overtime will be required at peak times Elanco is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status Elanco Animal Health Incorporated (NYSE: ELAN) is a global leader in animal health dedicated to innovating and delivering products and services to prevent and treat disease in farm animals and pets, creating value for farmers, pet owners, veterinarians, stakeholders, and society as a whole.
