We are seeking a highly motivated Scientific Technical Writer to facilitate the writing, editing, and release of documentation in support of new product development. Document types will include verification and validation protocols and reports, engineering study reports as well as high level plans and design review summaries. The successful candidate will interface broadly with key subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to deliver well-written documentation in a timely manner. Job Duties: Collaborate with scientists, project managers, and other stakeholders to edit technical documentation supporting all stages of product development (planning, development, and design verification activities) Confidently edit complex scientific content and ensure documents meet appropriate quality standards Promote document best practices across projects Proactively manage document reviews and approvals as per established approval process within project schedule Work efficiently and accurately in content management systems, adhering to best practices and departmental standards for terminology, content management, and reuse Coordinate and maintain organized records of all supporting materials, document drafts, and versions Adeptly process finished documentation work in product lifecycle managements systems as needed Contribute to document improvement initiatives Quickly learn and apply new tools, processes, and standards. Demonstrate adaptability and forward thinking in the face of technological or organizational change Skills Required: Must be proficient in English and have excellent grammatical, writing, and editorial skills Must be able to edit highly-complex scientific content without changing the intended meaning Must be organized, attentive to detail, service oriented, and dedicated to delivering documents that adhere to ISO and FDA standards Must be able to successfully manage responsibilities across multiple projects while under tight deadlines and coordinate input from numerous sources Must be comfortable with driving document completion through persuasion Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, material science, bioengineering, molecular biology, or genetics preferred Two to five years’ experience as a technical writer in industry, (biotech, medical device, scientific equipment) focused on scientific or regulatory writing or the equivalent Knowledge and skills typically acquired through previous positions in fast-paced corporate environments which involved responsibility for similar work Experience writing documentation for RUO, LDT, and IVD product development projects Knowledge of design control, quality, and regulatory compliance for the development of medical device and diagnostics products, preferably in the clinical diagnostics and IVD field as well as RUO spaces Experience with verification protocols/reports Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary environment with rapidly changing priorities Expert level experience in with Word, Excel, PowerPoint Experience with Teamcenter, Confluence, Asana, and MS Teams is strongly preferred Experience with collaborative document tools preferred #LI-REMOTE The estimated base salary range for the Technical Writer role based in the United States of America is: $50,500 - $75,700. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
