Communications wire and cable products transmit low-voltage signals for voice, data, video and control applications Position Summary: The Product Manager is responsible for monitoring the performance of the assigned product lines, taking action to achieve the sales, operating profit and finished goods inventory plan and recommending alternative tactics to improve financials. The Connectivity Product Manager will also work closely with Logistics and Sales to streamline the complex intercompany sales process. Nature & Scope Reporting to the Commercial Operations Director, the Product Manager is accountable for daily and strategic management of pricing and inventory and synchronizing pricing within the quotation and ERP system, contractual agreements, and projects. The Product Manager primarily works cross-functionally with inside sales, other business team members, engineering, outside sales, logistics, and operations. Responsibilities: Coordinates quotation activity for the applicable product categories Implements pricing strategies consistent with overall business strategies Creates and maintains competitive pricing database and reports as necessary to understand market environment and competitive position Assists the Inside Sales team in the coordination of cost/engineering/manufacturing information required for quotations Reviews and analyzes product cost, pricing and product mix for daily quotation activity Reviews and updates quotation terms and conditions for coordination with the formal quotation process Responsible for major bids contractual pricing Perform customer/product profitability analysis, operating as a key contributor towards maximizing profitability of the business Participate in critical customer meetings and customer scorecard reviews as needed Review/approval responsibility for customer complaint system (CCP) and create reports for analyzing customer complaint trends and identification of potential improvement projects Responsible for disposition of customer MRV Holds and Deviation Waivers Review monthly service metrics with Supply Chain to ensure customer expectations are met Review of inventory levels, recommend appropriate adjustments Manage the quality of inventory in conjunction with Sales and Supply Chain with responsibility to manage the surplus, slow moving and obsolete inventory system Responsible for monthly MPG specific forecast of volume, revenue, and CM Monitor performance metrics including but not limited to forecast, service, and operating profit, recommending gap closure plans when necessary Provide technical and commercial support to sales regions Work cross functionally to streamline and continuously improve the intercompany flow for connectivity MPG responsibility Coordinate new product development with Engineering P&L management Management Plan Strategic Plan Key Job Requirements: Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel and PowerPoint Proficiency in statistical tools including data mining, trend analysis, correlation and forecasting Ability to lead cross-functional teams and be an influencer within a matrix organization Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to think and act LEAN in order to streamline processes appropriately relative to all Sales, Marketing and Product Management functions Travel: Potential trips to customer locations, manufacturing sites, and trade shows, company travel policy permitting Desired Background: Education: •Bachelor’s degree with a preference in Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a combination of product management, sales, or supply chain Experience working in different business units a plus Characteristics: Creative, critical, and analytical thinking ability High business acumen with comprehensive business skills High energy and urgency level to maintain fast paced environment Passionate, competitive, tactical, and aggressive in thinking and style Cross functional team player who can motivate, energize, and be persuasive Document and process management skills Ability to receive and react to feedback Displays leadership and the ability to manage people and projects Data driven decision making Proficient in conflict resolution Capable of talent evaluation and development Prysmian Group, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities, who will enhance the quality of service and contribute to the Group’s success.
