Co-ops typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 20 - 22 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year. 3M provides eligible interns with temporary housing and round-trip travel reimbursement in accordance with current policy. The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Packaging Solutions Co-op in the Fall of 2023, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. The start date for this role will be between June or July of 2023. Here, you will make an impact by: Developing and implementing creative and innovative package solutions that span across all four business groups in collaboration with cross-functional team members Supporting the modification and improvement of existing package designs, methods and/or solutions Performing and coordinating package testing according to established protocols Working with suppliers of packaging materials and/or contract packaging vendors to obtain price/cost estimates, sample/material needs, and design requirements Creating, maintaining, obtaining, and analyzing packaging data that enables improvements in the packaging implementation and optimization process Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Completed a minimum of sophomore year (4 semesters) by the start of the internship Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in in Package Engineering, Packaging Science, or Supply Chain from an accredited institution Completion of Package Materials and Package Design & Development curriculum Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale Previous experience in the packaging industry Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
