Position Summary
The USA Triathlon (USAT) Strategy and Analytics internship is a unique and exciting opportunity to help learn and improve the internal workings of the Data and Reporting division of a National Governing Body (NGB). The Strategy and Analytics Intern works directly with the Data and Research Coordinator to aid on key projects that help USAT use its data to guide the organization. The USAT intern will be afforded the opportunity to develop and apply skills in various areas including but not limited to data visualization, rankings, business intelligence, predictive analytics, data-driven decision making and other key skills with data.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day activities relating to USA Triathlon’s data analytics needs.
- Analyze data via Excel, Tableau, and programming languages as needed to support USA Triathlon initiatives.
- Perform research around current trends pricing, sponsorship, membership, and other key business areas.
- Identify areas for optimization within USAT’s current data operations.
- Help create reports and presentations as needed.
Key Project:
· Assist in the build of new reports and predictive analysis to help guide USAT’s various teams.
· Build out dashboards for the various business units and other key areas of focus.
Qualifications:
· Educational requirements: Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree program or are a recent graduate.
· Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
· Attention to detail.
· Proficient in basic data analytics; experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tool is preferred.
· Familiarity with data analysis in R or Python and predictive analytics is preferred.
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Passion for sport and the ideals of the Olympic Movement.
· Familiarity with the sport of Triathlon is helpful but NOT required.
· Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
