Position Summary:
This position works in a fast-paced, results-oriented production environment and repairs various items, including garbage, recycling, yard waste containers, vehicle assemblies, and facility components.
Your Role:
- Repairs, modifies or fabricates a variety of metal work, including waste containers, vehicle assemblies, and facilities components
- Specializes in repairing compactors.
- Conduct work creating metal and plastic parts involving flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching.
- Through routine preventative maintenance inspections, identifying electrical and hydraulic system faults in compactors, and performing repairs, keeping the machinery operating efficiently.
- Maintains a safe working environment utilizing safety checks on compactors and containers to identify and rectify any defects or malfunctions.
- Executes customary configurations and setups of sizes.
- Performs projects based on prints, renderings, and verbal commands.
- Uses a variety of machines and equipment, including power saws, grinders, shear to press brakes, and drills.
- Adept in performing various welding procedures on various materials, including arc and gas welding.
- May operate heavy equipment as needed
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Your Skills:
- Knowledge of tools and methods of gas and electric welding
- MIG and STIK Welding
- Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions
- Ability to take and understand oral instructions
- Reliability and dependability
- Minimum of two years of experience in MIG and STIK welding.
- Must have basic tools to perform the job.
- Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Hold an appropriate CDL or be willing to obtain an appropriate CDL
