Fleet Manager

User Friendly Home Services is a growing service company in The Woodlands is seeking a Fleet Manager to join their team.

A Fleet Manager performs many organizational and management tasks to monitor, maintain and improve a company’s transportation processes.

Their duties and responsibilities include:

• Take the lead in understanding, communicating, and resolving any vehicle issues related to safety, hardware & software failure, or preventative maintenance.
• Develop and educate drivers on vehicle and driving safety
• Perform incident investigations, contributing factors and root cause analysis
• Make management aware of any negative driver behavior trends
• Managing vehicle licensure and registration
• Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met and is following all regulatory agencies including CHP, DOT, and OHSA etc.
• Purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
• Monitoring Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices
• Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress
• Scheduling and Coordinating with onsite management the regular maintenance on all vehicles
• Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
• Coordinate and schedule third-party vendors for equipment installations and/or repairs.
• Ensuring all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training
• Ensure quality and proactive responses to the needs of vehicles and staff.

Skills and Qualifications

• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Fleetio or other transportation scheduling and management software
• Current HVAC or service industry fleet management experience a plus

• Excellent leadership skills, including goal-setting, motivation and training
• Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices
• Basic math and data analysis skills
• Familiarity with transportation scheduling and management software
• Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed
• Ability to set and monitor a fleet budget
• Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
• Keen attention to detail
