Our billing office in Sun Lakes is in need of a Billing Analyst.
Job Summary:
- Process charges for billing for the surgery center in Patient Accounting System.
- Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
- Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for business office according to accepted standards.
- Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
- Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
- Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
- Informs Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
- Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.
- Review and confirm patient information.
- Obtains dictation and sends to corporate coder with an accurate schedule daily.
- After patient transactions have been properly coded, organize and batch charge documents and billing packets.
- Prepare batch.
- Post charges, ensuring that the insurance information and authorization information is complete and accurate.
- Balance and Close batch daily.
- Uploads daily batch to Zirmed and verifies the system batch totals equal combined documents.
- Works rejections in Zirmed daily.
- Notifies supervisor of trends with insurance coverage, incorrect contract information, or any insurance and/or coding updates.
- Provide relief to Admitting, Office Assistant, Insurance Verifier and Scheduling as required.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Communication skills: ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of surgery center. Basic math skills.
