We are currently seeking a Full-Time Patient Chart Builder/Registration Coordinator to join our Patient Access/Registration team.
As the Chart Builder you will primarily build and prepare for admission of patients. You will review daily operating schedule and verify all charts are completed in advance of the patient's surgery. The Chart Builder will also assist in Patient Access/ Registration Coordinator coverage across all areas of the hospital.
- Prepare charts for admission of patients.
- Ensure patient charts are prepared and completed prior to surgery date.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrates flexibility as job priorities change, willing to take on new work routines/methods.
- Contact physician offices for H&P and Orders as necessary.
Assists in the following areas, as needed:
- Admit patients and process their paperwork.
- Enter patient demographics/information in system.
- Collect monies due and document in billing system. Handle funds per office procedure.
- Explain insurance benefits to patients.
- Authorized to access medication storage areas for the purpose of performing patient registration, clerical functions, and other related duties as assigned.
- Floats to different patient access areas as needed or as assigned.
Required Skills:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year previous experience or some hospital clerical experience or medical terminology preferred.
- Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
- Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
- Good communication skills and interpersonal relation skills.
- Must use independent judgment and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Requires good time management skills.
