What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Tech OR PT position at USPI?
We are currently looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team. This is a Full-Time position eligible for our Full-Time Benefit Package, Retirement, and Leave Plans.
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will support our team by being responsible for the following:
- Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
- Applies knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
- Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
- Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
- Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed in the Operating Room.
- Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
- Assists circulating nurse in maintenance of physician preference cards.

Our state-of the art equipment allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of:
- Colon & Rectal Surgery, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology
Required Skills:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of previous Operating Room CST experience is required.
- CST certification, required.
- Current BLS required.
- One year of Total Joint, Complex Spine, and Arthroscopy experience, preferred.
