Director of Warehouse Operations Overview
As the Director of Warehouse Operations, you must provide operational oversight and act as your location’s subject matter expert. You will lead your warehouse staff in their daily operations, ensuring you effectively coach and develop the warehouse staff to drive company and client standards across the board. You are expected to meet or exceed the performance and financial goals set for your area of responsibility. In this role, you will develop and maintain professional relationships with the client’s operational management teams and drive superior service levels as expected by the company’s customers.
This individual will be an essential part of UST’s growth and success, built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will Execute Excellence Every time - known internally as E3.
Pay:
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
- Oversee all warehouse operations in their location, emphasizing achieving service and financial objectives.
- Manage warehouse divisional budget.
- Monitor daily and weekly reports to ensure financial objectives are achieved and deficiencies are identified and addressed.
- Continuous monitoring of applicable systems to ensure complete and accurate data
- Ensure all operations have adequately trained personnel to operate successfully and staff performance maintains UST’s E3 standards.
- Drive for results that meet or exceed the UST & Client service and KPI standards.
- Grow and foster strong client relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ensures accurate inbound receipt of product and staging
- Ensures staff keeps up with safe and proper practices when handling the product to ensure it is always in good condition.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all team members
- Monitors and completes any scheduled reporting relating to the department.
- Assist with new start-ups to ensure they are rolled out in a long-term success way.
- Ensure all warehouse operations consistently comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and UST requirements.
- Conducts business in a manner which will enhance the reputation of UST, our contractors & customers.
Requirements
- Ability to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- Bachelor’s degree and four or more years of relevant experience, or 6-10 years equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Possess effective written and verbal communication.
- Experience creating and analyzing statistical and financial reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (ex. finance, customer service, and employee management)
- Ability to make independent judgments that have a considerable impact on the organization
- Proven ability to problem-solve and create innovative solutions
- Multi-task and provide thorough follow-up and detailed action plans.
- Create and execute detailed plans alongside the Regional VP of Warehouse Operations.
- Previous experience in Warehouse or Distribution operations
- Valid Driver’s License
