Job Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for providing professional administrative support in the performance of various complex administrative duties while directing or coordinating daily operations of office and/or program(s).
Job Duties:
- Directs and oversees daily operations of office and/or program.
- Compiles data, statistics and other information and materials for meetings, lectures, or events.
- Handles department chairperson’s correspondence, travel arrangements, committee agendas, filing, calendar, and mail.
- Supports the administrative function for faculty.
- Advises on policy, procedural and operational issues.
- Independently composes, edits correspondence, devises course of action and independently responds to faculty-staff.
- Serves as staff and resource designee and acts as liaison between faculty, staff, and Chair Offices.
- Manages calendar by scheduling appointments, designated activities, and research.
- Acts as liaison with internal and external groups/offices/ constituents.
- Provides support to various departmental committees related to promotion-tenure of faculty, faculty mid-probationary review, post-tenure evaluation, tracking changes and appropriateness reviews with minimum faculty consultation, and prepares and distributes meeting minutes.
- Composes correspondence for Chair/Executive level equivalent signature.
- Reviews and edits draft publications and other written documents.
- Assists with event planning and performs special projects as assigned.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of related experience is required.
