What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academy Director position at Utah Soccer LLC?
The Academy Director plays a vital role in providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the academy's success in developing talented young players. You will work closely with coaches, staff, parents and stakeholders to create an environment that fosters player development, performance, and aligns with the Club's philosophy and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Supervises all technical aspects of the academy program with the goal of developing professional players at the highest levels and with high potential sale value.
- Establish and execute short- and long-term vision of the developmental teams in collaboration with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Technical Director.
- Measures and reports on the performance of the Academy and Real Monarchs each year against planned goals, objectives and strategies
- Attends, observes, and assists, when necessary, at all RSL MLS Next and MLS Next Pro matches.
- Recruits, evaluates and manages the Real Monarchs, and goalkeeping coaches.
- Participates in scouting activities and produces reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to analyze and evaluate player performance using video analysis tools and statistical data.
- Outstanding knowledge of the sport and detailed understanding of current and developing tactics, coaching methods, analytics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
- Experience in business management/financial management/budget planning.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must currently hold USSF A License (or equivalent from approved federation) or Director of Coaching license with a knowledge of grassroot pathway.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 5 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 10 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
