A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DESIGN ENGINEER
As a Design Engineer, you will focus on performing detailed design engineering in support of power delivery design projects. Bringing the design and engineering knowledge and skills that you have to deliver quality design deliverables. Our design team will provide a collaborative focus on completing design engineering projects, while also having direct interaction and strong working relationships with the field personnel who will perform the construction work. The USC family of companies provides a higher degree of integration and coordination that is experienced in other utility focused companies.
Design Engineers will primarily work remotely after being provided with the tools and applications to successfully perform your work. Some travel for team meetings and work site visits should be expected but is expected to by minimal in most cases.
There is a lot of opportunity for growth and development! Successful Design Engineers can progress through 6 levels of engineer classifications - so the sky is the limit to how far you can progress with USC!
Education: Accredited degree in electrical, civil, structural engineering.
Experience: previous exposure and design on utility transmission and/or distribution systems.
Location: Remote - ability for some travel as needed based on project location
