Billing Specialist - Provost Administration (Galveston)
Job Posting for Billing Specialist - Provost Administration (Galveston) at UTMB Health
Minimum Qualifications:
High school or equivalent and 2 years financial or 1 year of patient account experience.
Job Summary:
To be responsible for billing all third party payers through electronic downloading to a claims processing vendor.
Job Duties:
- Submits claims daily to third party payers. • Corrects rejected claims on-line via a P.L.
- Monitors electronic billing reports for billing accuracy.
- Prepares accounts to be electronically billed.
- Verify face sheets and insurance information in order to "set up" claims to be billed.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department. • Calculates Diagnosis Related Group (D.R.G.) adjustments on claims to reflect correct balance owed from appropriate payers.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
