Position Summary:
As the Maintenance Specialist at Uwajimaya, you will play a crucial role in performing the maintenance, repair, adjustment, and minor construction work of all our stores. This role is essential in maintaining our carpentry, electrical equipment, and plumbing to ensure that the building equipment and machinery are fully functioning.
Position’s Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair facility and department equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
Perform tasks involving electrical equipment, plumbing, painting, woodworking, and welding as required.
Identify and promptly report issues with refrigeration to the Maintenance Manager.
Communicate daily job progress to management, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Provide excellent customer service to employees, vendors, and customers.
Ensure cleanliness of each assigned job area upon completion.
Maintain a safe working environment for customers and colleagues.
Other duties as assigned.
Starting at $23.59/hr., Depending on Experience.
Position Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Minimum 2 years of maintenance/carpentry experience required.
Proficient in the use of tools such as drill press, saws, routers, hammer drill, electrical multi-tester, fork-lift, conduit tools, and assorted hand tools.
Electrical experience is required.
Plumbing and refrigeration licenses are preferred.
Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, or sketches.
Working knowledge of the internet and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Availability on weekends.
Availability for on-call to cover occasional shifts.
