Purchasing Coordinator’s main responsibilities are:
1. Product Management
Study and identify trends in the marketplace to meet diverse customer needs with the best product mix and lines for the company.
Review and assess prospective suppliers to guarantee that our customers are getting the best deal possible.
Track trends in product movement to determine which products should be sold.
Evaluate prior sales to establish future fulfillment needs.
Determine and develop appropriate sources of supply and maintains cooperative working relationships with suppliers to stay current with trends, products, and services.
Prepare and process purchasing orders and obtains proper business documentation to validate order information.
Ensure appropriate inventory level and its proper distribution.
Visit competition markets for price and product comparison.
Identify discrepancies in physical and record inventory to initiate necessary adjustments or corrections.
Maintain item and supplier file with up-to-date cost/price and other information.
Create, delete, and activate/inactivate item and supplier numbers accordingly.
Support warehouse related duties to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit, including receiving discrepancy and slot label management.
2. Financial Management
Monitor incoming products for cost fluctuation and conduct daily cost changes.
Evaluate freight factors to ensure effective freight costs.
Study market /industry trend to establish new wholesale prices.
Share responsibility for meeting sales and profit goals.
Process supplier rebate, allowance, and bill-back into product cost in timely manner.
Organize financial support by suppliers for promotion and special event.
3. Customer service
Meet the product needs of customers and accommodate special requests if possible.
Mediate disputes over product quality between customers and suppliers, including customer return processing.
Work with sales team to conduct special deals and promotions for customers.
4. Perform any other reasonable requests made by management.
Qualifications
Requirements/Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or its equivalent
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
General business knowledge and experience preferred.
Knowledge of merchandising and Asian products preferred
Experience with AS400 is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel and Outlook and database management.
