Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
- V2X is seeking a Senior Labor and Employment Attorney to oversee all labor and employment matters for the company.
- Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Senior Labor and Employment Attorney will provide legal counsel and oversight of all global labor and employment matters including ensuring employment law compliance in US and foreign jurisdictions, management of all employment-related disputes and litigation, drafting and updating pertinent employee policies and procedures, and serving as a subject matter expert for employment matters related to executives in a publicly-traded company. The incumbent will work with and build close relationships with key operational and advisory leaders and will provide regular updates to the company executives and Board of Directors.
- Proactively partners with and leads cross-functional internal stakeholders in Human Capital, Ethics, attorneys in the legal department and others with the primary focus on developing strategies that minimize risk for the organization and ensure compliance with US federal, state, local, and select foreign jurisdiction employment laws.
- Supports public company-required annual disclosures related to executives and other legal matters.
- Directs internal investigations for EEOC and manages employee-related disputes and litigation.
- Creates policies and processes in response to evolving laws, regulations, and industry guidance. Identifies, controls & mitigates risk of potential non-compliance through development of training sessions for employees on key risk topics.
- Advises appropriate business units on developing legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment and labor relations.
- Provides legal counsel regarding agency audits, and investigations.
- Develops reports and briefs the Board of Directors quarterly on labor and employment updates and employee-related disputes and litigation.
- Directs the appropriate resourcing (e.g.) in-house versus outside counsel).
- Assists with special projects as necessary and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the VA, DC or MD bar.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years' of experience practicing employment law, either at a nationally recognized law firm or in-house legal department, with a minimum of 3 years in-house.
- Experience with EEOC and employee-related disputes and litigation.
- Experience in M&A due diligence and integration.
- Experience working with diverse types of workforces.
- Experience presenting and reporting to executives and/or Boards of Directors.
- Experience with Labor Relations and supporting collective bargaining.
- Experience working with a large, global government contracting organization (revenue over $1B).
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including but not limited to Title VII, the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Experience:
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- United States citizenship
- Ability to travel to company and client sites as needed to build relationships and resolve matters (up to 20%)
- Ability to work out of the headquarters location in McLean, VA on a hybrid schedule (3 days/week)
- Must be able to work extended hours, as required.

- The successful candidate effectively conveys ideas and messages both formally and informally, in speaking and in writing. The candidate must be able to deliver clear, concise, accurate, articulate and persuasive written and oral messages, supply supporting facts as necessary and be adept at tailoring their communication to their audience. Platform presentation skills are imperative.
