Nutrition Coordinator
$500 Recruitment Bonus!
$250 paid in first paycheck, $250 paid out after 3 months of employment.
We are a small child care center with a home-like environment in the center of Madison near the UW campus. We use an emergent curriculum inspired by the Montessori philosophy to guide our play based classrooms and activities that follows each individual child’s developmental stages.
We are in search of a caring and collaborative individual to lead our nutrition program. In the role of Nutrition Coordinator this individual will be responsible for planning and preparing diverse meals and snacks representing our families’ cultures and traditions with local produce following CACFP guidelines. This role will also collaborate in health, wellness, and environmental conscious activities and projects with classroom teaching teams, maintain VAKC’s on-site garden, and partner with local farmers through the Farm to School program.

Duties
-Plan and prepare diverse meals and snacks representing our families’ cultures and traditions with local produce following CACFP guidelines.
-Collaborate in health, wellness, and environmental conscious activities and projects with classroom teaching teams
-Maintain VAKC’s on-site garden
-Partner with local farmers through the Farm to School program.
-Ensure each meal meets U.S. Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements for each age group represented within the center.
-Coordinate grocery and supply purchases
-Follow all health and safety guidelines as outlined in 251.06(9) of the WI Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers
Requirements
-Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
-Be a least 18 years old
-Successfully pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting process
