Vac2Go is currently looking for a Technician to join our team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
· Review Plan of the Day board and monitor for updates throughout the day
· Execute repairs according to Plan of the Day
· Conduct all required preventative maintenance
· Manage inventory of parts and equipment needed for vehicles and request approval to order
· Run diagnostics on all trucks/equipment
· Check-in the vehicle upon return and complete the Check-In Sheet and submit to Mechanic for approval
· Perform Check-In/Check-Out procedures
· Perform bag changes as needed for each vehicle
· Maintain detailed documentation for preventative maintenance
· Maintain accurate and updated documentation in Fleet Management system for DOT requirements and submit to Ops Manager daily
· Demonstrate individual time management to ensure execution against Plan of the Day while also addressing unplanned customer needs
· Monitors shop for any safety concerns and actions immediately when issues arise
· Communicate any changes in Plan of the Day responsibilities to Mechanic and update team proactively
· Proactively ensure required parts are available or on order prior to the beginning of the repair
· Run diagnostics and identify root cause
· Determine best path forward to execute necessary repair/maintenance as quickly and safely as possible
· Balance the need for cost efficiency and quality in all decision-making
· Able to troubleshoot all common truck/equipment repair needs
· Determine whether a repair or a replacement is most efficient solution
· Identify issues/concerns that immediately impact ability to meet customer need
· Able to deliver basic training to customers about each truck and equipment type as needed
· Able to address daily customer questions/concerns via phone, e-mail, in-person interactions in a timely and professional manner
· Consistent and timely follow up for all customer requests
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
· Knowledgeable in all required safety policies and best practices
· Proficient knowledge in basic repair requirements of trucks and equipment
· Proficient knowledge of rental process and ability to check customers in/out
· Proficient knowledge of technical aspects of truck including but not limited to blower operations and engagement of the truck
· General chassy knowledge
· Understands all required processes and timelines for preventative maintenance
· Ability to operate diagnostic systems and understand the results
· Basic knowledge of electrical/hydraulics
· Open to obtaining CDL license if needed
· Should work towards obtaining air & brake certification
· High School Diploma or GED Required
· A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a service technician required
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must have or be able to obtain a CDL
· Good communication skills, both written and oral is required
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in multiple forms required
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
