What we're looking for
Vacasa is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join the Operations Safety Team. The Safety Team is part of central operations support, helping to shape our operating procedures by implementing new safety initiatives to provide support to a geographically dispersed staff.
A person acting in this position must be a good facilitator and have excellent communication skills. This role requires innovative thinking in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In order for this candidate to be successful, they must be highly self-motivated and detail-oriented, committed to solving problems efficiently, and interested in being part of an organization committed to continuous improvement. This position will collaborate with internal and external teams to facilitate the implementation of improved safety initiatives.
What you'll do
The Safety Coordinator will primarily assist in the administration and coordination of Vacasa's incident reporting procedures. There is an opportunity to assist with other safety projects as they evolve. The main duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Maintaining a written log to document accidents in the workplace and investigate the circumstances of an illness or injury.
- Analyzing incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies in order to create policies that eliminate workplace hazards and lead to a safer work environment.
- Collaborating with field management to develop Emergency Action Plans for each worksite.
- Promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and regulatory compliance.
- Support other safety initiatives as assigned
Skills you'll need
- Reliable internet
- Knowledge of OSHA standards for general industry is a plus
- Capable of maintaining strong attention to detail while following up on incidents in various stages of the documentation process
- Strong written communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders and municipalities
- Comfortability with a new and evolving team.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Tech-savvy - including Google applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and deliver results in highly ambiguous environments
- Creative problem solving and collaborative skills to develop solutions to complex problems
Working conditions
Ability to work from home and resides in one of the followings states: AK, AL, AZ, CA, CO DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MT, NC, NH, NM, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, or WY
You'll be working in your home office setting. We hold virtual training sessions and weekly team meeting. Occasional offsite team meetings in your region or our HQ locations. Requires frequent, repetitive use of a computer, phone, and office equipment. Requires patient, professional communication with prospective clients, and the ability to build confidence with prospects.
