About the role:
The position will be responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions and financial reporting specifically at Partner Services but will also support local partners as needed to provide accounting guidance and review. Regional support includes being the liaison relating with the Accounting System (Intacct) consultant for training, issues, and access, bringing forward updates and improvements and providing access relating to all Accounting related software (Intacct, FloQast, JPM Banking Platform and Stampli). This role will also participate in the integration process of mergers and acquisitions completed by regional platforms. Working closely with the VP of Accounting and wider accounting, finance and corporate development team, the Senior Manager of Accounting will play a key role in ensuring accurate and auditable financial statements.
Responsibilities:
- Leveraging Floqast - ensure an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close, prepare and review flux analysis, MD&A.
- Provide accounting guidance around technical topics as needed.
- Work closely with broader finance, systems, and partnership development teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new acquisitions, including communication around accounting items impacting EBITDA.
- Ensure corporate accounting policies are maintained, communicated, and reviewed (Capitalization, Inventory, Warranty Reserve, Deferred Maintenance, etc.)
- Will be responsible for all accounting transactions related to the Partner Services income statement and balance sheet, including but not limited to ensuring accurate and complete recording of all accounts payable, cash transactions, fixed assets, prepaids, debt, accrued expenses, payroll, etc.
- Oversees and participates in the robust month end process for Partner Services to ensure financial reporting integrity.
- This position will be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions, including ensuring cash and payroll transactions are recorded timely and accurately, reconciliations are prepared and reviewed, etc. and will participate in preparation of MD&A and monthly financial statement review with senior leadership.
- Will also be highly involved in the year-end audit process for Partner Services and support audit efforts with local partners.
- Provide support to comply with all Alpine year end deliverables (tax projections, engagement letters, intangibles information etc.)
- Support the overall audit process with external auditors to ensure successful engagement and on-time delivery of all requested materials.
- Respond to inquiries from local partners regarding accounting matters, provide guidance as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from the leadership team regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and implement streamlined procedures where possible.
- Execute the individual and team goals that support strategic and operational initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and improve operations where possible.
- Contribute to team culture.
- Provides accounting management and oversight to the Partner Services accounting function and serve as a key partner to the Regional Platform accounting teams.
- Works with other members of the Regional Platform to ensure financial reporting is automated, 98% accurate, and audit ready.
- Helps ensures cash is managed appropriately with the proper internal controls.
- Implement robust monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Coordinate with the Regional Platform Accounting Teams and external auditors to ensure successful engagement and on-time delivery of audited financial statements and tax audits.
- Oversee monthly journal entries, and reconciliations and Partner Services.
- Document and monitor internal controls in support of audit team.
- Assist as needed with comprehensive annual budget planning.
- Support team with key strategic initiatives.
- Prepare presentations as necessary summarizing key findings of analyses and projects.
- Lead a broad range of ad-hoc projects focused on improving reporting quality.
- Assist with the integration of acquisitions into our accounting and financial systems.
- Contribute to team culture and effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of prior accounting experience (mix of public accounting and industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting.
- CPA license.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, master's degree a plus.
- Strong excel skills.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and accounting ERP implementations a plus.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Experience leading and developing teams preferred.
- Strong ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language.
- Extreme formatting, organization and priority setting skills.
- Strong accounting experience and demonstrated ability to lead / drive processes.
