Job Summary :
The purpose of the Assistant Golf Professional is to assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in every phase of the total golf operation.
This concept includes assuming full responsibility for the Golf Shop and its operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
As a member of the Golf Management Team, the Assistant Golf Professional will be a part of the entire operation. They will assist in all areas including the golf shop, practice facility, golf services and golf car operations.
The position will promote an exceptional "golf experience," and provide excellent services and programs for all patrons.
This is a seasonal position from April / May to October.

Job Responsibilities :
- Promote the game of golf.
- Aid the Head Golf Professional in every phase of the golf operation.
- Spread hospitality and goodwill to the Members and Guests.
- Teach all abilities and conduct golf clinics.
- Play golf with the Members and work on golf game.
- Responsible for daily golf shop operations and bookkeeping. Operations duties include keeping an accurate tee sheet, managing daily golf shop personnel, and providing professional service.
Bookkeeping duties include maintaining a balanced daily ledger, closing daily books, and reporting daily sales and deposits.
- Assist with outside staff.
- Coordinate the junior golf program.
- Directly responsible for the coordination of all group play.
- Assist with planning, conducting, and scoring golf tournaments and other golf-related activities.
- Help to oversee all areas of the golf operation to assure proper performance.
- Assist in keeping the Golf Shop neat and clean.
- Assist with inventory control.
- Display and sell all merchandise.
- Assist with stock and special order merchandise.
- Answer phones and book tee times for Members, Guests and special events.
- Assist with golf club repair.
- Notify Maintenance of all upcoming events.
- Attend Schools and Education Seminars.
- Develop new ways of improving any part of the golf operation.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements :
- Member in good standing or registered in the Apprentice program.
- Must be willing to learn all aspects of teaching, merchandising, inventory control, handicapping, personnel management, tournament operations, satisfactory playing ability, and the rules of golf.
- Must reflect a professional image at all times.
