Job Summary
As a member of the Mountain Activities Maintenance Team your role is to perform all maintenance and repair procedures on activities related equipment such as Mountain Coasters, Zip Lines, Alpine Slides, Bungee Trampolines, Climbing Walls, Ropes Courses, Mini Golf, Gem Panning and other amazing activities.
The Mountain Activities Maintenance staff member will need to be highly self-motivated and will work closely with the Maintenance Team Lead, Mountain Activities leadership, staff and Lift Maintenance to provide timely maintenance service with an emphasis on : safety, guest service, and efficient operation of all Activities.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform and document all activity inspections on a daily, weekly, monthly and biannual basis.
- Perform repairs to activity related equipment on a daily basis.
- Based on manufacturers recommendations, follow a program of maintenance, testing and inspections providing for the duties and responsibilities necessary in the care of each amusement ride or device - ASTM 770
- Complete all required Mountain Activities, Vail Resorts Health & Safety and compliance applicable trainings.
- Work as a team and independently, sometimes with minimal supervision, to ensure all inspections, repairs and ongoing maintenance are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.
- Assist in construction of new activities and help to lead pre-season set up and post-season tear down and storage of activities
- Daily grounds keeping in summer and snow removal in winter.
- Proactively communicate maintenance needs to ensure timely ordering of parts and equipment.
- Engage with guests and staff while exhibiting Vail Resorts Core Values.
- Assist with operation of activities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must have a Valid Driver's License & Satisfactory Driving Record (in accordance with VR Drivers Policy)
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions (sun, rain, wind, snow, etc).
- Comfortable with working at height up to 160ft.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Seasonal Full Time employment required.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings.
- Mechanical background and aptitude.
- Able to use a variety of tools ranging from basic hand tools to technically advanced and specialty equipment.
- Strong communication skills : communicates in a positive, solution oriented way to proactively address maintenance and operational needs.
- Teamwork : able to work effectively with activities leadership and other department staff to plan, schedule, and complete maintenance tasks on time (lift maintenance, lift operations, base operations).
- Organizational skills : able to organize and accomplish a wide variety of tasks and prioritize daily work to maximize productivity and efficient maintenance of all activities.
- Ability to learn a variety of task in a timely manner.
- Strong trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a highly dynamic work environment.
- Self-motivated with an eye for detail in the work area.
The expected pay range is $20.00 - $22.04. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
