Commercial Market Manager
For more than 40 years, Roanoke, VA-based Valcom has been a leader in the development of communications products that relay information rapidly, enabling individuals in various locations throughout an organization to receive relevant instructions in emergency situations. The Commercial Market Manager is responsible for driving business growth and sales within the Commercial market segment, such as the industrial or commercial sectors. This includes developing and implementing sales strategies, managing budgets, and building relationships with key clients and partners.
Duties of The Industrial/Commercial Market Manager may include:
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the industrial or commercial market segment
- Leading the development of the Commercial Products, including defining product requirements and specifications, coordinating with engineering and other teams, and managing timelines
- Developing and implementing sales plans and strategies to meet business targets and objectives
- Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners, including conducting sales presentations and negotiations
- Managing budgets and forecasting sales for the market segment
- Analyzing market trends and monitoring competitors to stay up to date on industry developments
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to sales team members as needed
- Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to ensure that sales efforts are coordinated and aligned with the overall goals of the company
- Maintaining accurate records of sales activity and results.
Requirements for the position include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred, but not required.

-Understanding of how to leverage Distribution to increase sales.
-Understanding of how to leverage Integrators to increase sales.
-Ability to listen to customers and understand the needs of stakeholders.
-Being technical enough to provide solutions and self-aware enough to know when to pull in others to help explain technical details.
-Being able to effectively conduct a meeting and keep people engaged.
