About Our Opportunity
As a Security Engineer, you will be at the forefront of cybersecurity initiatives within our organization. You will work closely with the IT and security team to identify, design, and implement security measures that enhance our infrastructure's defense against digital threats. You will perform regular audits, vulnerability, and risk assessments to detect weaknesses and work to improve our security systems' robustness. Your ability to stay up to date with the latest security trends, advisories, incidents, and mitigation techniques will be paramount in this role.
Things You’ll Do Here:
- Design, implement, and manage advanced security protocols and tools such as End Point Detection & Response (EDR), eXtended Detection & Response (XDR), and User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA)
- Utilize Network email monitoring AI Analytic & autonomous response capabilities to quickly and accurately identify potential threats
- Integrate Security Orchestration, Automation & Response (SOAR) and Security, Information & Event Management (SIEM) methodologies into our cybersecurity framework
- Manage Enterprise Vulnerability Management (EVM) programs to ensure robust defenses against potential threats
- Monitor security events using the available tools, and conduct in-depth analysis and investigation to track incidents to their root cause
- Engage in proactive threat hunting to identify hidden, dormant, or emerging threats
- Review vulnerabilities on workstations (Windows & Linux), hosted servers on O365, AWS (Linux/Debian), and private cloud (Windows) environments, and formulate remediation or mitigation strategies
- Conduct regular Firewall (WAF) log reviews to ensure network integrity and investigate any suspicious activities
- Review, manage, and implement access control policies to maintain least-privileged access and protect sensitive information
- Respond promptly to security requests, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and involved
- Assist in maintaining the organization's compliance with security certifications such as NIST, SOC, and HITRUST
- Collaborate closely with the Security Assurance Analysts to ensure alignment between security and enterprise architectures, thus coordinating the strategic planning implicit in these architectures
- Support the CISO, Director of Systems Engineering, and Security Assurance Analysts in evaluating and developing systems security and incident response protocols
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM are highly preferred
- Current or recent experience in Security Engineer or similar role, with a focus on building and maintaining security systems
- Expert knowledge in risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods, as well as secure network and system architecture design
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, computer forensic tools, and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong system administration experience across multiple platforms and applications
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with SOC 2 certification programs
- Experience with NIST, ISO, and/or HITRUST programs
- CompTIA, (ISC)², and/or GIAC certifications
