Seeking world class talent to join Valeo Service, leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value add services operating in the US, Canada and Mexico. This Product Manager is responsible for delivering business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction through the production of quality products. Within their designated product line, the Product Manager focuses on delivering value by leading the strategic vision and product roadmap across the customer journey and ensuring all products within their portfolio are aligned to the vision.
This position plans, organizes, and controls assigned product line from conception through product life cycle for optimal profit and to achieve marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Drive business growth and performance at product category level; co-developing and co- leading/influencing customer, pricing, sourcing and service strategies. Actively think long-term strategy (12-24 months) and planning accordingly to sustain and drive initiatives to successful completion.
Your challenge....
- Product development and management of portfolio
- Pricing & profitability: definition, adjustments and evaluation of impacts in cost and sales prices
- Promotion: guide the communication, develop and implement market campaigns, incentive actions and monitor the results
- Place: supporting sales team with the development of new customers, product introduction, evaluation of offer and development of existing customer accounts
- Services: guide needs in terms of training and other services needed according to the product line
- Participate in development and release projects - Is the champion for structural market analysis : product & service
- Contributes to the implementation of the distribution strategy
- Is responsible for promotion, communication services and sales animation activities related to product lines:
- Day to day coordination/ monitoring of monthly corrective action plans according to monthly results & follow up w/ sales
- Visit clients and prospects on a regular basis, incidentally alone
- Gives support for product-technical questions to customers and customer service.
- Gives the marketing input for his perimeter to the monthly demand planning exercise.
- Act in Project team, according to his/her respective actions in Project planning
- Develop and support w/ data the business case, offering market knowledge, sales targets, deadline, GM target, volume and others relative to the marketplace
- Requests and approve product modification w/ the respective suppliers, in order to align the product to the market needs
- Is the buyer of the respective line of activity, responsible for negotiating purchase prices of new items and / or review of contracts, in order to meet the Market and Division needs
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, administration, engineering, trade, marketing or other related fields
- 5 years experience in product and/or experience management
- 5 years experience product ownership and helping drive road-mapping, planning and delivery in an agile environment
- Knowledge of Automotive Aftermarket Industry Catalog Exchange Standards like ACES and PIES is a plus.
- Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs.
- Proficiency in conducting competitive research and analysis.
- Experience in B2B and retail business is a plus
