What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gasoline Blender position at Valero?
- Operates two independent Blend systems, optimizing octane by adjusting blend components, as directed by the P&E Department
- Performs all maintenance on three (3) Waukesha Knock Engines.
- Keeps accurate maintenance records on Knock Engines and related blending instruments in the Knock Lab.
- Performs octane testing on blend components and all gasoline finished products.
- Performs and records in LIMS all required Quality Control testing in the Knock Lab.
- Performs ethanol hand blends on all gasoline samples and distributes aliquots for testing to the Laboratory Testers.
- Maintains and manages gasoline retain room.
- Perform routine sampling of gasoline blends
- Maintains the knock engine room in a clean and organized state.
- Coordinates, identifies, and escalates if required any gasoline blending related problems or significant issues.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or higher level degree - in Applied Science or related field preferred.
- 3 years of refinery/petrochemical experience is preferred.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
