We are seeking a Program Manager to join our team in Auburn Hills, Michigan where we design, build and integrate body-in-white welding and joining production systems for the automotive and commercial truck sectors. Our flexible body shop automation systems and smart work cells help OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers bring their products to life while adapting to rapidly changing technology and consumer demands.
What you’ll get to do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers to:
- Manage and provide technical expertise, direction, and leadership during the design, build, and commissioning phases of assigned projects
- Monitor progress of project schedules and budgets; develop action plans if variances arise
- Schedule, lead, and otherwise facilitate design and manufacturing line-up and review meetings
- Serve as the liaison on all job issues between the customer and internal departments
- Work with the customer and Valiant TMS team to resolve any issues to the satisfaction of the customer, subject to cost and delivery constraints
- Record and relay all information to required team members affecting any change, additional charges, or delivery schedules
- Arrange and communicate all customer visits to Valiant TMS for job progress and final buy-off meetings
What you bring
- Completed post-secondary education in technical or engineering studies
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the automated production systems or the machine tool design and build industries
- A demonstrated job-related drive and enthusiasm while being able to analyze the overall effects of decisions under pressure
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers
- Exceptional organizational, management, and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer locations
- A proven ability to work well within a team-based work environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives
