About the Role
As the Senior Associate of Corporate Development, you will be an essential contributor to developing and executing Validity’s M&A strategy to advance the company’s vision through inorganic growth opportunities. You will be responsible for keeping a pulse on industry happenings and how they align with and impact Validity’s strategic roadmap, identifying areas for future investment and analyzing target companies, as well as supporting the execution of M&A transactions that will help Validity maintain its position as the industry leader in customer data management and digital marketing. You will work closely with the SVP of Strategy & Corporate Development to help drive M&A deal activity including target company financials analysis, growth and synergy modeling, diligence and data room management, and executive-level presentation development.
Team Dynamic
The Strategy & Corporate Development Team is a dynamic, high-visibility group that partners closely with the Board, the Executive Leadership Team, and cross-functional teams to develop strategy and execute organic and inorganic opportunities that will accelerate Validity’s growth and further Validity’s business objectives. We are agile team players who are motivated by solving complex problems that will enable the rest of the organization to operate efficiently and effectively at scale. Our team is challenged to think big picture strategy about Validity’s long-term direction, while also executing the day-to-day to achieve our company plan.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and execute inorganic growth opportunities to accelerate Validity’s growth across existing and new channels, markets, and regions
- Analyze Validity’s strategic landscape, gather industry intelligence, and help source, evaluate, negotiate and execute potential transactions
- Manage key activities throughout the M&A lifecycle including industry analysis, target company identification and evaluation, financial projections and valuation modeling, deal structuring, and negotiations
- Work closely with internal and third-party organizations throughout deal structure, negotiation, and due diligence processes
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of emerging trends and industry dynamics, serving as an advisor to internal stakeholders for insight on strategies/tactics to ensure competitive advantages
- Create executive presentation materials for our Executive Team, Board, and target companies
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
- 2-4 years of relevant transaction experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, strategy, and/or in-house on a corporate development team
- Advanced Excel modeling skills
- Highly motivated and self-directed, combining strategic thinking, executive communication skills, project management, good business judgment, and quantitative skills
- Demonstrated hypothesis-driven problem-solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into executive-level insights and recommendations
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education
- Deep industry knowledge of customer data management and/or digital marketing landscape
- BA/BS Degree
