What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Engineer - Automation position at valmet?
We are seeking a QCS (paper Quality Control automation System) engineer who will lead customer projects, from definition to start-up through the configuration and commissioning work, ensuring that technical and quality targets are met. Knowledge of DCS, QCS and PLC Automation systems is a plus. The project engineer’s role also includes dealing with our Pulp and Paper customers and maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES Act as technical project leader and interface to the customer Work with Project engineering team while assisting the project manager as needed. Implement all phases of the project delivery including application definition & engineering, staging and testing, installation and system commissioning. Generate reports for project development, system performance, acceptance and post-project feedback. Provide input for continual improvement of our products. WORKING CONDITIONS Works primarily in the office in Norcross (GA)or in a site environment when commissioning. Requirements: Good knowledge of processes and customers of Pulp and Paper industry. Industrial Automation knowhow, Valmet Automation Systems & Valmet Project flow is a plus. Master or Bachelor in Chemistry or Engineering field or equivalent acquired competence and minimum 5 year working experience as project senior engineer on matching industrial sector. Must exhibit business oriented attitude and leadership skills, have experience with team building, process improvement, conflict resolution, and motivating people. High initiative, must be systematic and have an assertive character. Good public performer and negotiator, Ability to form professional relationships with customers, co-workers and international partners. Ability to function in multitasking environment independently, able to plan priorities, and willing to travel. Fluent in English. French, Spanish is a plus. Maintain driver’s license.
