We are currently in search of a Residential Construction Superintendent. The right candidate must have prior experience as either a Project Manager, Foreman, or Supervisor on residential construction and remodeling projects. This is a full-time position with an emphasis on managing project installations and customer service. Managers should be capable of managing multiple crews, projects, and clients at a time. Skills Required:
- Responsible for building 6-12 custom homes in a one to two 5-county territory
- Developing, monitoring, and adhering to the building budgets, work schedules, labor forecasts with a view towards maximum efficiency
- Review budgets with an understanding of labor pool and market pricing.
- Be literate with building software for building schedule, select vendors and purchase order issuance.
- Skilled in weekly customer communication
- Develop relationships with new vendors for building vendor bench strength
- Meet trade partners on-site to review scopes of work.
- Perform quality checks on completed work and approve purchase orders.
- Check-in material deliveries at job sites.
- Maintain organized project documentation.
- Ensure inspection compliance with municipal inspectors.
- Manage safe and clean worksites.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years suitable work experience building homes. Experience in “on-your-lot” construction is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with external parties, including homeowners, local and provincial construction associations, trade partners, suppliers, industry peers
- Extremely well-organized, flexible, ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Understanding of local building codes, National Electrical Code, OSHA Guidelines, and other applicable building codes and practices
- Experience in computerized environment for production planning, ordering, analysis etc.
- Professional experience dealing ethically with people/situations/issues and ability to demonstrate what processes are applied in decision-making which reflect professionalism and integrity
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to analyze, look for trends and superior estimating skills
- Knowledge of BuilderTrend or other construction scheduling and purchasing software
