What are the responsibilities and job description for the Door assembler position at Van Millwork?
Van Millwork is currently searching for reliable individuals to assist in the assembly of interior doors, and other millwork items. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Working on a door assembly line and keeping up on routine maintenance of equipment
- Using Saws, Nail Guns, Staplers and other tools needed to prep wood material used to assemble doors
- Safely operate a forklift to assist in moving material to appropriate area of the shop
- Pick and pull production material as needed
- Load, unload, store and package material as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all safety rules posted.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
- Strong math skills, ability to read a tape measure
Required Experience
- High School diploma/GED; or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read tape measure
- Understanding of basic math such as adding, subtracting, and fractions.
- Previous door assembly or carpentry experience preferred (Willing to train the right candidates).
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Forklift Certification (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
