What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information support Specialist position at Vanderheyden Hall?
The incumbent is responsible for the support of all agency end users as well as support and maintenance of the agency wide converged network and other related technology used by our organization.
Primary duties consist of supporting end users in a Windows PC environment. Some travel required to all locations within the Capital District to meet the needs of the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Manages PC installations, imaging, upgrades and patches.
- Troubleshoots and resolve problems related to Desktop PC hardware and software.
- Evaluates, tests, and installs hardware and software.
- Collaborates with IT Staff to ensure that PCs, terminals, printers, laptops and other peripherals are in working order and able to connect to the organization network.
- Track, update and manage issues using IT ticketing software.
- Collaborates with all staff to ensure effective problem resolution, attends meetings as required, stays current on technological advances.
- Provides supplementary training to end users on core/ancillary systems and other software.
- Ensures new employees have a good working knowledge of current organization computer systems.
- Travels to branches within the Capital District area to carry out the duties listed above.
- Help Desk: Respond to customer issues via phone, email, or text.
- Assists in supporting the Organization network, including servers, appliances voice, and video networks.
- This is NOT a remote position.
Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of: PC hardware/software troubleshooting and repair;
- Windows 10\11 support;
- VPN and TCP/IP Network Configurations and remote communication; L
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair PC computer hardware and network printers
- Knowledge of Apple iOS and Android mobile devices.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory a plus.
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation, ability to travel between organization's locations, mileage reimbursement included.
- Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver License with clean driving record.
