Job Description

Vanir is seeking an experienced Inspector the join the team. The Inspector is responsible for providing complex inspection services in accordance with various building codes and quality assurance standards. This position will support construction management projects in the Water/Wastewater Sector.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of Inspection services and manage specialty inspection staff of Water and Wastewater projects
• Coordinating and scheduling of field inspection events, quality control, communication, decision-making, use tools and processes for multiple projects
• Support program and project controls activities through review of contractor's schedule, measure and record pay quantities
• Build a cooperative partnership between client, contractors and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project
• Provide weekly statements of working days and maintain daily diaries which include personnel and material diaries
• Understanding general, civil, mechanical, electrical and structural inspection including specialty inspections
• Responsible for the enforcement of contract documents including plans and specifications
• Performs other duties as required to ensure project success

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with a minimum seven years construction experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum five years construction experience or equivalent
• Preferred inspection certifications American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), Coating Inspector Program (CIP), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), American Welding Society (AWS), National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)
• Five (5) years experience working on water and/or wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, storage facilities, and conveyance pipelines
• Lead inspection experience on projects valued at $5M and greater
• Knowledge of techniques and methods of general construction and maintenance trades; construction safety practices and principles including shoring, confined space entry and traffic control safety
• Shall have the ability to work pro actively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to change
