IT System Administrator Responsibilities
Keep abreast of IT needs and industry trends as they relate to key Varay accounts.
Assist and participate in key process improvements for all Windows environments throughout the organization and client base.
Participate in the review of new Windows systems and Windows application deployments in both workstations and servers.
Assist in the coordination of network design, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of Windows systems to meet corporate objectives.
Assist with on-premise to cloud migrations.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including network hardware and enterprise servers.
Ensure that Windows-based workstations and servers comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.
Monitor, test, and maintain system performance.
Assist in implementing strategies for integrating Windows and non-Windows operating environments.
Assist in the establishment and implementation of policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure systems security.
Assist with researching Windows-related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts.
Assist sales team with developing statements of work and bill of materials.
Develop and maintain knowledgebase articles educating end-users and IT staff.
Other duties as assigned.
IT System Administrator Requirements
Experience with assessing, deploying, and maintaining line-of-business applications.
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Windows Server 2012 R2 and newer operating systems.
Experience installation, configuring, and maintaining Windows Hyper-V environments.
Strong familiarity with DNS and TCP/IP networking.
Familiarity with various network protocols, firewall management, and database administration.
Strong knowledge of popular Windows operating systems and software programs, including Microsoft Office 365.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
Good technical knowledge of current network hardware and standards, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
Ability to think critically and solve complex issues.
Strong communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science and at least five years of related job experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal project management training is desirable.
