Role and Responsibilities

The Variable Copay Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an effective and professional relationship with clients and members while positively representing Southern Scripts and Variable Copay.

  • Main ‘go-to’ person for offsite pharmacies VCP questions
  • Oversees Prior Authorizations, insurance accounts, coupons and pricing
  • Update coupons and other information in Solo Rx
  • Provides high end customer service with internal and external clients
  • Develops training for Variable Copay as deemed necessary by Management Team
  • Assist Southern Scripts Team (Customer Service, Implementation Team) with SS/CRx eligibility requests, medication overrides, CRx requests,
  • Help develop new processes to implement Groups and improving Variable Copay process
  • Take incoming calls from offsite pharmacies with Variable Copay questions and overrides
  • Own the Checks and Balances process
  • Any other duties required to maintain a productive environment
  • On-Call
  • Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • If a HIPAA violation is discovered, whether individually or by another, you must report the violation to the Compliance Officer and/or Human Resources.
  • Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company.

Supervisory Responsibility

Ability to manage and supervise both licensed and non-licensed health care professionals if needed


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional after-hours or weekend duties.


Required Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent
  • Critical Thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Good Time-Management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Good phone etiquette
  • Organizational Skills
  • 5 Year customer service with members and clients
  • 3 Years Pharmacy Tech experience or equivalent work experience
  • PBM Knowledge
  • Project Management Skills
