About the Job

It's a ruff job, but someone's has to do it. If you love dogs, have great customer service skills and when see a mangy mutt you think "I could turn that mongrel into a masterpiece," you're an experienced bather.

As a dog bather at Camp Bow Wow you will shampoo, clip nails to make dogs look good. Pet bathers are great with animals and people, listening to the owners' requests for how they want their pet to look, and keeping the animals calm in what can be a stressful situation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Shampoo / bathe dogs.
• Nail trims / grinds, ear cleaning, blow-outs, brushing, tooth brushing, pawdicures, facials
• Furminator brush-out, blow-out, bath, de-matting
• Talks to dog or uses other techniques to calm animal.
• Cleaning tools, equipment and grooming area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Patience and genuine care for animals.
• High standards of cleanliness and professionalism.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to talk with pet parents and provide a calming experience for the dogs.
• Knowledge of the industry and trends.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years' experience.
• Online courses, vocational school, on-the-job training.
• Compassion : Dogs are often stressed out in unfamiliar situations, and bathers need to understand this and treat them accordingly.
• Customer-Service : Bathers work with customers directly, and must be friendly and listen to their requests and needs.
• Attention to Detail : Bathers must pay attention to what they are doing, so that the animals stay safe and the grooming comes out looking great.
• Stamina : Bathers are on their feet for long periods of time, sometimes hunched over animals during the grooming process.
