What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at VCA?
VCA Arroyo is a five-doctor general practice located in the the heart of beautiful Lake Forest. We offer wellness and sick appointments, general surgery, and dentistry. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our awesome team!
Patient care and employee experience are our top priorities. We are looking for someone with strong technical and communication skills and a positive and friendly attitude.
The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
Compensation : $ 25 - $ 27 / hr
- Maintaining medical records
- Obtaining medical histories and TPRs
- Filling prescriptions
- SQ, IV, IM injections
- Venipuncture & IV catheter placement
- Monitoring hospitalized patients
- Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Surgical assisting
- Dental radiographs & cleaning
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
- Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring the hospital is neat and clean at all times – both inside and outside
