Gyrostabiliser Field Service Technician

We are currently seeking an Fort Lauderdale based full time Gyrostabiliser Field Service Technician. This role is suited to a self-employed individual willing to align themselves with VEEM.
Key Responsibilities
- ·Undertaking mechanical, electrical and electronic service, maintenance, and other work on the fleet of VEEM Gyrostabilizers as directed by the Company.
- Travel to and from the vessel location and coordination of logistics with the vessel’s manager and the Company;
- Providing technical training and guidance to VEEM sales, other service agents and customers in as directed by the Company;
- Coordinating logistics for VEEM, including the warehousing and freight movement of VEEM Gyrostabilizers, spares, parts and tooling;
- Assisting VEEM with customer relations when requested. This must be done in coordination with VEEM’s agents and the Company.
- Ensuring the VEEM gyrostabilizer customer/product database/CRM is up to date at all times.
- Provide the Company with full records of all work done, including notes, procedures, details of testing, photos, videos and customer feedback and details as instructed from time to time.
- Commission new Gyrostabilizers in accordance with VEEM Commissioning Procedures
- Carry out all required services in accordance with VEEM Service intervals and work instructions
Requirements:
- Self-employed individual
- Extensive experience in the marine industry
- Relevant technical qualifications or experience– mechanical, electrical and marine
- Ability to read drawings and schematics
- Can work independently with remote support when required
- Strong personable skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English, Spanish is a bonus.
- Available to travel at short notice, domestically / Caribbean / South America
- Based in Fort Lauderdale preferred, minimum Southeast Florida
- Be available to undertake 4 weeks of paid training in Perth, Western Australia.
Salary and Conditions:
- You will be working full time for VEEM
- You will be a contractor for VEEM not a direct employee of VEEM
- Fixed hourly rate to include 401(k), medical insurance
- 4 weeks annual leave
- Will be paid a min of 40 hours per week plus any additional hours
- Will be reimbursed for travel expenses – accommodation, mileage and parking.
- Will be reimbursed for a small self storage unit to carry VEEM spares.
